2 Arrested, 35 Cited For Underage Drinking At Party In Hayti

| Nearly three dozen people were cited and two others arrested after a large underage party was busted in Hamlin County over the weekend. The Hamlin County Sheriff's Office reports there were dozens of underage drinkers at a home on the 500 block of Palmquist Ave. in Hayti Friday night. When police arrived to the home just after midnight, they found underage people drinking inside and outside of the house. The Sherriff's Department handed out citations to 35 people ranging in age from 14 to 18-years-old. The owner of the home, a 32 year-old man and a 19 year-old woman, were arrested for contributing to a Delinquency of a Minor, Furnishing Alcohol to Minors and Maintaining a House of Nuisance.One person was taken to the hospital with an alcohol-related problem.
